In the opulent estate of Nagasakiya, a sense of tranquility often permeates the air, shielding its master, Ichitarou, from the outside world. However, appearances can be deceiving, for Ichitarou is far from solitary in his domain. Gifted with the extraordinary ability to perceive the spirits that inhabit the realm of the living and the dead, he finds solace in the company of a trio of ghostly companions, each imbued with unique abilities and a deep loyalty to their enigmatic master.

Hakutaku, a towering figure with the body of a serpent and the wings of a bird, serves as Ichitarou’s sentinel, ever vigilant and ready to unleash his formidable strength at a moment’s notice. Inugami, on the other hand, is a canine spirit with an uncanny ability to track and pursue, making him an invaluable asset to Ichitarou’s arsenal of ghostly resources.

One fateful evening, Ichitarou’s carefully constructed isolation is disrupted when he ventures out of his estate, seeking a respite from the confines of his isolated world. As he navigates the winding streets of Edo, he bears witness to a heinous crime: a brutal murder that shakes him to his very core.
